Yesterday we got 3 very sweet goats: Ivy, Alpine, and Lucy.   Connor and Ivy, (Connor was so cute, he has decided that Ivy is HIS GOAT, Hope that means he'll be the one to milk her too) this 2nd pic is of Gabrielle giving them all .  beautiful hairdos with Elsie's brush :) and Connor with yep, you guessed it Ivy :)

Alpine, and Alysabelle and Ivy

Josiah hugging Lucy,  and Collin petting Lucy

Alysabelle with all three new goats, and Adelle riding Ivy lol, OK really Gabrielle is holding her but it looks like it :)  and Collin

Alysabelle really riding Elsie, Elsie is getting so big, she has out grown the harness that was so big it fell off of her when we got her, she has moved up to Medium. The cow thinks she is a dog, but we love her anyway!

Trumpeter Swans

Before you step out of the vehicle at little Magness Lake, roll down a window and listen. You’ll know why the big, stately, beautiful birds are named trumpeter swans.

They are another Arkansas wildlife success story, although it has a touch of mystery. Nobody can fully explain why these birds took a liking to this one small oxbow lake a few miles east of Heber Springs in Cleburne County.

It was in the early 1990s, and three swans showed up on Perry Linder’s farm. He welcomed them, doled out whole kernel corn, and their numbers have been growing since.

The birds imprinted on the location and have come back every year, with babies and their babies babies, and their babies babies babies, and ...well you get the point.

now there are an estimated 250 birds each winter.

Gabrielle and Collin with the beautiful swans

and Josiah and Connor

and last but not least Alysabelle and Adelle

this is such a rare thing for our area, we feel blessed to be able to witness it.

the swans are so majestic and graceful

The kids, Stoney, and I had a great time feeding them, we brought 5 gallons of corn, and they ate every bit of it!
